into the next delightful hour.
Hail Mary
Light streams in
through three open windows
above the porcelain white sink,
illuminating this sacred space.
Full of grace
Her mother,
fully present.
Blessed art thou among women
As years pass,
lost memories
change everything.
A door begins to close,
another opens,
welcoming a daughter.
Inside, flickering flames
above rows of candles
burn with passion.
A splash of holy water
awakens the senses.
Vignettes on windows
with royal blues,
rich reds,
emerald greens
and golden yellows
come alive.
And blessed is the fruit of thy womb
She kneels in gratitude,
prays in solitude,
when a benevolent form
calls her
by her name.
